Georgia O’Keeffe at Tate Modern review: The artist who tried to create a new kind of painting for Modern America

This London retrospective is already drawing big crowds. Its popularity notwithstanding, there are mixed views among the critics.  One declares the show to be a great success but another observes that O’Keefe had “no relish for paint”. The above writer takes the middle ground: She developed “a new way of seeing things in the world” but “O’Keefe’s works are [not] truly great paintings”.
