The Eerily Emotive Art of Laurie Simmons
Dylan Kerr | artspace | 11th March 2015
Laurie Simmons is one of the so-called ‘Pictures Generation’, a loose-knit group of American artists who borrow images from popular culture to probe issues of personal identity. Simmons latest exhibition focuses on the Japanese “doll girl” sub-culture. The above link shows images from across her career. A short video of the artist discussing this exhibition is here.
