Sonia Delaunay, Tate Modern exhibition review: pioneer of abstract art supremely relevant to our time
Ben Luke | Evening Standard | 15th April 2015
For Delaunay, the mechanical age that was emerging after 1900 introduced new ideas and a new energy. She made iconic ‘colour disk’ paintings but worked more in textiles – “wearable paintings” said her husband. Regrettably this is her first ever UK retrospective.
