Master of bronze Parviz Tanavoli strives for recognition on home soil

Parviz Tanavoli is a sculptor who moved to Canada after the 1979 Iran revolution. Despite being hugely influential in his home region, he has not had a major exhibition in the US since 1976. With his work attracting record prices at auction and several major institutions now planning shows of Middle Eastern art, things may be changing.  “It’s literally like having Henry Moore living in Vancouver, except that nobody knows he’s here”.
